He is widely regarded as the greatest
writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist.
He is often called England’s national
poet and nicknamed the Bard of Avon.

village in Warwickshire surrounded by Forest of Arden.

Shakespeare was the third child and
eldest son.
Father- John
Shakespeare,(A businessman in Corn, meat leather and agriculture product).
In 1565, he was elected an
alderman of the town.
In 1568, he become high
bailiff,(Mayer) of Stratford.
Mother- Mary Arden (the
daughter of an affluent landowning former).
Spouse- Anne Hathaway
In
November 1582, at the age of 18 he got married to Anne who was eight years old
(26 years old).
Children-
1.) Susanna , in May 1583 (After six months of
their marriage)(baptized on 26 may).
2.) Judith
3.) Hamnet and Judith(Twins) in 1585 (Baptized on
2nd Feb 1585)
Hamnet died at the age of 11 in August 1596.
Childhood Education-
At the age of 7 years, he was sent to the Grammar school at Stratford where he
learned ___

less Greek”
Ben Johnsen also said for Shakespeare “Shakespeare knew little Latin and
less Greek”
Burial- he was buried in
Holy trinity church.
Turning Point in Shakespeare life-
1.) It is said that he left Stratford become he
was alleged of stealing a dear from sir Thomas Lucy’s park.
2.) He left Stratford for London (Probably in
1586-87).
3.) There are no personal records of Shakespeare
life.
4.) Scholars refers to the years between 1585 and
1592 as Shakespeare “Lost Years”.
5.) Shakespeare next appears in the historical
record in 1592. When he was mentioned as a London actor and playwright in a
Pamphlet by the dramatist Robert Greene.
6.) In his pamphlet ,Greene’s Groats-worth of wit,
Greene expresses to his outrage “the upstart crow”. Shakespeare has the
impudence to believes he is as well able to bombast out a blank verse as the
best of you.

Theater Life -
1.) James Babbage's “The theater”. (1st
permanent theater).
2.) The dramatic company mentioned above performed
at “The theatre” until 1596.
3.) The swan and Curtain until 1599.
Globe theatre – It was built in 1599 at the bank of river
‘thames’.
Blackfriars Theatre –
In 1608 , Shakespeare’s comedy ‘the kings men’ acquired this theatre.
Shakespeare’s Dramatic Career -
Shakespeare wrote 37 plays and some of them were contributed by other
dramatists.
The exact
date of the composition of individual plays is a matter of debate-for only a few
plays in the date of their first
performance know.
